Quarterbacks

After national media basically guaranteed Will Levis would be a top 5-10 pick and Hendon Hooker would go in the first round, both quarterbacks fell out of day one. That’s not a surprise, as national media overhypes non-Round 1 QBs every year, and every year they are wrong. It’s a tradition unlike any other.

Now, Levis will be a great pick for a team at the top of Round 2. He’s a good player with the potential to be a really strong “within structure” quarterback. I just don’t know if he’s a playmaker. Will the Raiders at No. 38, or the Patriots at No. 46 try to make a move up the board for him? Tennessee at 41 or the Rams at 36 feels more likely. Levis feels very much like the type of quarterback Sean McVay would love to work with. Plus, there is the connection with Levis being coached in college by Liam Coen, who has worked with Sean McVay for years.

As for Hooker, could Washington at no. 47 be a sleeper for him? But I think Detroit is the most likely landing spot, at No. 34 or at No. 48.
