Scouting Notes
Ideal size and frame for an off-ball linebacker, but lacks the foot speed in short areas and over longer distances to be an ideal starter. Elarms-Orr’s impact as a run defender picked up significantly when he could key on pullers and play a little bit faster from the neck up. But when duo or zone teams faced him, he really struggled to play downhill and be gap-sound in his run defense.
Elarms-Orr steps into contact in the box too gently, often getting stuck or turned out of his gap. He’s big and strong for the position, and you can see those traits in flashes. But he doesn’t have the twitch in his lower half or the pop on contact in his hands to consistently jar opponents and control space. Elarms-Orr also backs out of contact to get off blocks more than you’d like to see, surrendering space and angles to opposing runners.
