My 2025 head coach rankings and tiers heading into the summer, with first-time head coaches excluded from the list until they have an opportunity to prove themselves. Please note that this is NOT a list based on career accomplishments or achievements, but rather who the best head coaches are right now. Heavy weight is given to recent seasons, as well as some projecting given where the league is heading in key areas.

One interesting note - there really aren’t any head coaches that I would actively consider bad right now, a testament to where the league is at. It’s very possible Tier 4 contains zero good head coaches, but I like things about almost all of them, as unproven as they may be at this point. So don’t take a low ranking as an indictment of anyone on this list!
